This Monday, the government unveiled the list of commodities whose VAT will be eliminated. A measure that will go into effect on April 1 and remain in effect through October covers a total of 44 products from the widest range of food categories. The following foods will have their VAT cut to 0%.

- Portuguese cabbage;
- Spinach;
- Turnip.
Fruits:
- Apple;
- Banana;
- Orange;
- Pear;
- Melon.
Legumes:
- Red beans;
- Black-eyed beans;
- Chickpea;
- Peas.
Dairy:
- Cow's milk;
- Yogurts;
- Cheese.
Meat, fish and eggs:
- Pork;
- Chicken;
- Turkey;
- Beef;
- Cod (Bacalhau);
- Sardine;
- Hake;
- Horse mackerel;
- Canned tuna;
- Sea bream;
- Mackerel;
- Chicken eggs.
